Okubo Seisakusho Inc. Approach to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Okubo Seisakusho Inc. strives for a safe and secure future through manufacturing.

Okubo Seisakusho Inc. produces its goods in Shiso city, surrounded by its richly green environment.
From there, we mainly design and develop bicycles and motorcycle accessories.
In particular, we are focusing on promoting the use of bicycles to work towards achieving the Global Goals .

What are the SDGs?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international goals adopted at the UN Summit in September 2015 by all countries.
There are 17 global goals and 169 targets, including reducing inequality and poverty, sustainable consumption and production, and addressing climate change by the year 2030.

Environmental Initiatives

Installation of solar panels

In order to promote new clean energy sources, we installed a solar power generation system when we built our new headquarters in 2019.

・Installation of solar panels
・Use of motion sensing lights in the hallways and restrooms of our company
・Use of LED lights
・Cleaning up the public spaces around our company building
・Use of hybrid vehicles as sales vehicles

Construction of a new park

The park is located to the east of our oficce.

We built a park next to our employee parking lot with dozens of different kinds of trees that bloom in the spring.
We also installed bicycle racks throughout the town to make it easier for people to use their bicycles.

Promoting the use of bicycles

Rain ponchos are useful for commuting to work and school.

We are working to reduce CO2 emissions through the production and development of bicycle products. By increasing the use of bicycles, we are aiming for a better future.

・Development of bicycle accessories to increase the use of bicycles for commuting to work and school.
・Creating a town in which it is easy to use bicycles by installing bicycle racks.
・Coordination of bicycle events.

In-house() training() and activities

In-house training

Since around 2018, we have been inviting a consulting professor to perform in-house training and team-building activities.
In the activities, we have been working on product quality control and 5S activities.

・Conducting in-house training
・Participation in external training
・Quality control, such as management and care of blades and broken needles.

An easy-to-live-in environment

Accessible restrooms

Our company is committed to providing an environment where everyone can work comfortably.
We have employees of all ages, from around 20 to over 65 years old, working at Okubo seisakusho Inc.
We have also donated masks, face shields, and PPE to both Shiso city and medical institutions.
